ParentPay collects over 700,000 pounds in donations from schools for BBC Children in Need
Due to the fantastic fundraising efforts from schools, and generous donations from parents, over £700,000 in donations was collected for BBC Children in Need 2021 via our secure school payment platform, surpassing the impressive half a million pounds raised in 2020.
These funds can now go towards providing funding to over 2,500 local charities that support children and young people across the UK affected by poverty, disability, illness, distress, and trauma. Thank you to everyone who donated, it is incredibly inspiring to see the fundraising efforts of schools and families across the UK, especially as we continue to tackle the new normal Covid-19 has ushered in.
Our partnership with BBC Children in Need began in 2019, with the aim of providing a secure system for schools to digitally manage large volumes of donations, eliminating the need for cash. This partnership supports the fundraising efforts of thousands of schools and families across the UK, by providing a simple and secure platform for managing large volumes of cash donations.
The 2021 BBC Children in Need campaign aimed to help school children to have fun and feel good, whilst making a difference to those who need it most. Friday 19th November 2021 saw a day packed with activities and exclusive content, including exciting challenges set by Dragons Dens’ dragons, Joe Wicks’ special workout with a twist, and Dr. Ranj’s Mindfulness Moment.
Mark Brant, ParentPay Chief Executive, said: “We’re truly humbled to have had the opportunity to continue supporting BBC Children in Need for their 2021 campaign, which is such an important cause.”
Mark added: “We are delighted to see the overwhelming support from schools, parents, and children who took part in fundraising activities for this worthy cause. BBC Children in Need is doing so much vital work across the UK, and we want to thank all the teachers, pupils, parents, and school leadership teams who helped make 2021 such a success. Without you, it wouldn’t be possible.”
Claire Hoyle, Commercial Director at BBC Children in Need, commented: “A big thank you to everyone who donated via ParentPay and helped to raise funds for BBC Children in Need’s 2021 Appeal. Your continued generosity means we can help make a difference to the lives of children and young people facing disadvantage in communities across the UK, at a time when they need it most.
ParentPay provides a secure donation platform for schools and parents to ensure funds come to BBC Children in Need with ease and assurance. Thank you so much to ParentPay for your ongoing support to help change the lives of young people.”
